Our two-faced president - Obama secretly sold bunker-buster bombs to Israel

i can't believe there was yet ANOTHER republican debate last night and it's still more than 13 months until the election... supposedly romney bested perry but, ferchrissake, who the hell cares...? bachmann, romney, perry and, yes, obama... they're all out there, competing for our attention while our bought-and-paid-for media keep trying to get us to believe it all means something...

meanwhile, the current white house occupant has once again demonstrated that his constituency is by no means the american people but rather the defense industry, israel and anyone who can put the right amount of money on the table...

In an exclusive story to be published Monday on growing military cooperation between the two allies, U.S. and Israeli officials tell Newsweek that the GBU-28 Hard Target Penetrators—potentially useful in any future military strike against Iranian nuclear sites—were delivered to Israel in 2009, just several months after Obama took office.

The military sale was arranged behind the scenes as Obama’s demands for Israel to stop building settlements in disputed territories were fraying political relations between the two countries in public.

The Israelis first requested the bunker busters in 2005, only to be rebuffed by the Bush administration. At the time, the Pentagon had frozen almost all U.S.-Israeli joint defense projects out of concern that Israel was transferring advanced military technology to China.

In 2007, Bush informed Ehud Olmert, then prime minister, that he would order the bunker busters for delivery in 2009 or 2010. The Israelis wanted them in 2007. Obama finally released the weapons in 2009, according to officials familiar with the still-secret decision.

James Cartwright, the Marine Corps general who served until August as the vice chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, told Newsweek the military chiefs had no objections to the sale. Rather, Cartwright said, there was a concern about “how the Iranians would perceive it,” and “how the Israelis might perceive it.” In other words, would the sale be seen as a green light for Israel to attack Iran’s secret nuclear sites one day?

No, I didn't watch it

i debated with myself about watching it for a while before it started, but when the time rolled around i thought, "nah..." i generally find it very painful to watch those things and instead usually read about it via live-blogging and news reports... so, this morning after reading the overnights, i'm just as glad i didn't watch... (btw, i would experience nearly identical pain watching american idol...)

every day, he's earning more of my respect... he takes a pile-on by the media and the democratic establishment in the debate and flips it right on its head, precisely where it belongs... i'm so impressed...



if i could ONLY have some guarantee that, somewhere along the line, he hasn't already sold his soul... if i could only believe that he's the real thing... and if he IS, if i could only believe that one man could make the kind of difference we so desperately need... i can't tolerate the thought of another charade election where we get our hopes up only to have them dashed because it's impossible to buck the system...

i'm sure obama and his team, along with every other non-comatose, halfway intelligent person in the entire country, could have anticipated that hillary would adopt a relentlessly offensive posture with obama last night... having watched and listened to hrc over the past couple of months, there was no way in hell it would have played out any differently... but, rather than see it for what it is, our stalwart nyt news reporters present it like hillary is strong and obama is weak, rather than portraying hrc as the desperate, obnoxious, annoying, playground bully she really is...

PHILADELPHIA - Senator Barack Obama found himself consistently on the defensive as he and Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton met Wednesday night in a tense debate that left him parrying questions and criticism on issues including values, patriotism and his association with onetime radicals from the 1960s.

It was the first time the two candidates had shared a debate stage in seven weeks, and it came six days before a primary in Pennsylvania that could determine whether Mrs. Clinton can continue her quest for the Democratic presidential nomination. It could also prove to be the last debate between them.

Accordingly, Mrs. Clinton did not let an opportunity pass as she repeatedly challenged Mr. Obama on his record and views — assisted, as it turned out, by vigorous questioning by the two moderators from ABC News, Charles Gibson and George Stephanopolous.

The result was arguably one of Mr. Obama’s weakest debate performances. He at times appeared annoyed as he sought to answer questions about his former pastor, his reluctance to wear an American flag pin on his lapel and his association in Chicago with former members of the Weather Underground, a radical group that carried out bombings in the 1960s that were intended to incite the overthrow of the government.

it's become patently clear... our corporate, political, governmental, and media elites are scared shitless of obama, and they will do anything and everything to bring him down... besides exposing hillary for the she-weasel she really is, we should be doing everything in our power to discredit those who claim to be giving us objective information, "information" that is nothing but pure establishment propaganda disguised as news... they can all go straight to hell... i ain't buyin' a goddam word of it any more...

Kucinich on Bush: "We know the State of the Union. It's a lie."

god bless 'im... he's like the energizer bunny... he just keeps on goin'...

Representative Dennis J. Kucinich of Ohio may get excluded from Democratic presidential debates, as he has been recently, but no one can deny him the floor in the House.

And today Mr. Kucinich took to the floor to fire off his latest salvo at the Bush administration: his plans to introduce Articles of Impeachment against President Bush on Jan. 28 — the day of Mr. Bush’s State of the Union speech.

Accusing the administration of lying about the need for the war in Iraq, Mr. Kucinich said he did not need to hear the president’s assessment. “We know the State of the Union,” he declared. “It’s a lie.”

He also fired a volley at House Speaker Nancy Pelosi of California who has maintained that impeaching Mr. Bush is not on the table for Congressional Democrats. “If impeachment is off the table,” Mr. Kucinich said, “truth is off the table. If truth is off the table then this body is living a lie.”

Kucinich got a chance to participate in some debates, but overall the US news media has iced him out.

Little or no coverage, not-so-subtle ridicule, exclusion from many of the televised debates.

Why?

Just listen to what he has to say:

* He voted against the Patriot Act,
* He's pro-union
* He's against "new world order" trade agreements like NAFTA
* He's against military intervention overseas and
* He is pushing for Bush's IMMEDIATE impeachment.

In other words, he's someone who represents the citizens of the US, not its corporations and criminal/government class.

Good news... Kucinich to be included in NV debate

yes...

A Nevada judge said Monday that Democratic presidential candidate Dennis Kucinich must be included in Tuesday's candidates' debate in Nevada.

Senior Clark County District Court Judge Charles Thompson said if Kucinich is excluded, he'll issue an injunction stopping the televised debate.

The judge sided with a lawyer for the Ohio congressman, who says debate host MSNBC at first invited Kucinich to take part and then told him last week he couldn't.

when our news media start blatantly and openly deciding which presidential candidates we get to see and hear in the most important election in the country's history, it's about goddam time the justice system weighed in on the side of the first amendment...
