Laughing so hard, the tears are rolling down my face

i wasn't going to post on this, but i realized, after i caught myself laughing out loud so hard that tears were rolling down my cheeks, it was simply too good to resist...

Last night on PBS’s Charlie Rose, former senator Fred Thompson added his own conspiracy theory to the mix, stating that Iran may have deliberately “leaked” the information on their lack of nuclear program to distract the U.S. “Nobody knows” if Iran is pursuing nuclear weapons, he declared:

We’re just going to have to wait and see, why they would start it up and they would move away without telling anybody.

oh, my freaking lord... why "would they move away without TELLING anybody...?" HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA... oh, fred, you flaming, bag'o'shit, moron... they TOLD EVERYBODY, REPEATEDLY, ZILLIONS OF TIMES, AND NOBODY IN THE WHITE HOUSE WAS LISTENING... go back to tennessee, you fool...!

Fred Thompson: If you're scared of liberals, vote for me

oferchrissake, fred... go wash your damn pick-up truck and stop blathering about idiocy...

Republican presidential candidate Fred Thompson said Saturday that election of a Democrat to the White House in 2008 would open the way for a welfare state where bigger government, higher taxes and defense cutbacks sap the country's economic and military strength.

"Our country is at a crossroads," Thompson told several hundred people at a rally at a community clubhouse.

"We know that the most liberal element of the Democratic Party has taken control of the Democratic Party, and if they win this next election we're going to go down the road of a welfare state," he said.

After warning of a government that gets "bigger and bigger," he said "I don't think the American people are going to turn the keys to this country over to the most left-wing part of a left-wing party next year."

"We've got to make sure that doesn't happen," he said.

O.M.G...! the "most LIBERAL element of the democratic party..." grab the children, turn off the lights, close the blinds, don't make any noise at all... maybe they'll go away...

what must go on in a brain like that...?

Republican presidential candidate Fred D. Thompson has been crisscrossing the country since early this summer on a private jet lent to him by a businessman and close adviser who has a criminal record for drug dealing.

Thompson's frequent flights aboard Martin's twin-engine Cessna 560 Citation have saved him more than $100,000, because until the law changed in September, campaign-finance rules allowed presidential candidates to reimburse private jet owners for just a fraction of the true cost of flights.

Martin entered a plea of guilty to the sale of 11 pounds of marijuana in 1979; the court withheld judgment pending completion of his probation. He was charged in 1983 with violating his probation and with multiple counts of felony bookmaking, cocaine trafficking and conspiracy. He pleaded no contest to the cocaine-trafficking and conspiracy charges, which stemmed from a plan to sell $30,000 worth of the drug, and was continued on probation.

i said some time ago how truly delighted i was to see berkeley breathed and his extraordinary talent re-emerging in salon... so, after going and shooting off my big mouth, i haven't been all that dedicated a follower since then, and proceeded to miss this one, but, thankfully, atrios grabbed me by the ear and pointed me in the right direction... i won't attempt to post it here... you'll just have to go look for yourselves...

One of "THOSE" days

i'm casting about for posting material and am finding my heart just isn't in it... stories like fred thompson adding liz cheney to his a'buildin' campaign team just don't give me much hope... yesterday, i was buoyed by the story from the three-judge panel in richmond, ruling against "ememy combatant" status, but, ya know, i feel like i'm grasping at straws... bush, cheney, gonzo, and rove are still in place, people are still dying all over the damn place in iraq, and the bushies are still taking their daily dump on our constitution... maybe brother tim or jim can muster a bit more motivation than i can and give you something interesting to read and ponder... i'm gonna teach my class this evening and not think about anything else... (unless, of course, something BIG hits the fan...! LOL...)

Tim "Interim Appointment" Griffin says chau for now

his 120 day "interim appointment" was up on april 20...

The U.S. Justice Department has notified Arkansas’s congressional delegation that Interim Eastern District U.S. Attorney Tim Griffin is resigning effective Friday, June 1.

according to raw story, griffin is going to work for the fred thompson campaign... good riddance...

"His departure from the US Attorney Office for the Eastern District of Arkansas is a positive development and the Senator is looking forward to having credible leadership restored there," said Michael Teague, spokesman for Senator Mark Pryor (D-AR), of reports that interim US Attorney Tim Griffin had been approached to join Thompson's campaign.
