from the financial times...

Rockefellers and Rothschilds unite

Two of the best-known business dynasties in Europe and the US will come together after Lord Jacob Rothschild’s listed investment trust and Rockefeller Financial Services agreed to form a strategic partnership

whatever your particular perspective on conspiracies, the illuminati or what-have-you, this has to be one of the most intriguing headlines i've seen in a long, long time...

D.E.A. launders drug money

this is being spun as a conscious tactic in bringing down the cartels...? oh, man... just exactly how stupid do they think we are...? there's no way this passes the smell test...
Undercover American narcotics agents have laundered or smuggled millions of dollars in drug proceeds as part of Washington’s expanding role in Mexico’s fight against drug cartels, according to current and former federal law enforcement officials.

The agents, primarily with the Drug Enforcement Administration, have handled shipments of hundreds of thousands of dollars in illegal cash across borders, those officials said, to identify how criminal organizations move their money, where they keep their assets and, most important, who their leaders are.

They said agents had deposited the drug proceeds in accounts designated by traffickers, or in shell accounts set up by agents.

The officials said that while the D.E.A. conducted such operations in other countries, it began doing so in Mexico only in the past few years. The high-risk activities raise delicate questions about the agency’s effectiveness in bringing down drug kingpins, underscore diplomatic concerns about Mexican sovereignty, and blur the line between surveillance and facilitating crime. As it launders drug money, the agency often allows cartels to continue their operations over months or even years before making seizures or arrests.

here's the money quote - "the D.E.A. conducted such operations in other countries"... mexico just happens to be the most recent and the one that's come to light... what about colombia...? afghanistan...? other central american countries...?

and here are my questions...

  • so, what "other countries"...?
  • how much money are we talking about and over what period of time...?
  • where does that money really go...?
  • what kind of relationship does/did the d.e.a. have with wachovia bank that was caught laundering billions of dollars in drug money...?
  • what are the banks that were involved, what was the nature of the relationships and how were they established...?
  • what, if anything, resulted from this tactic...? arrests...? cartels dismantled...? drug flows reduced...?
it's utterly fascinating to me that wachovia is not even mentioned in this nyt article... i'm not a reporter... i'm probably not even an adequate sidelines observer, but the first thing that leaped to mind as i was reading this was wachovia...

WTC Building 7

are we finally closing in on the truth...?

geraldo...

BuildingWhat?

More than eight years after the tragedy of September 11, 2001, New York Supreme Court Justice Edward H. Lehner was hearing arguments in a courtroom less than a mile from Ground Zero about a ballot initiative to launch a new investigation of the 9/11 attacks. When the lawyer for the plaintiffs sponsoring the initiative explained that the 9/11 Commission report left many unanswered questions, including “Why did Building 7 come down,” the Judge replied quizzically, “Building what?”

Like Judge Lehner, millions of people do not know or remember only vaguely that a third tower called World Trade Center Building 7 also collapsed on September 11, 2001. In any other situation, the complete, free fall collapse of a 47-story skyscraper would be played over and over on the news. It would be discussed for years to come and building design codes would be completely rewritten. So, why does no one know about Building 7? And why did Building 7 come down?

The answers to these questions have far-reaching implications for our society. The goal of the “BuildingWhat?” campaign is to raise awareness of Building 7 so that together we can begin to address these questions.

i ain't holding my breath but any step in the direction of truth is welcomed...

A Wall Street government

i'm glad to see that the incredible and still on-going theft of the resources of the u.s. and - let's face it, the entire world - is garnering increasing attention from those in a position to potentially reach non mainstream audiences...

this is the trailer for a documentary entitled, "inside job"... it posits what i at least believe to be the entirely credible proposition that what has taken place over the past few years is a deliberate scam - a well-planned heist - a scam that continues to this day...

thanks to badabing at daily kos and, even though daily kos is a site that eschews "conspiracy theories," i respectfully suggest markos and his colleagues ought to wake up and smell the coffee...

The great fleecing of the American taxpayer by Goldman Sachs is now official

the lede to matt taibbi's rolling stone article on goldman sachs...
From tech stocks to high gas prices, Goldman Sachs has engineered every major market manipulation since the Great Depression - and they're about to do it again.

and just to be fair, here's megan mcardle's 10 july takedown of taibbi's article from the atlantic...
It's not that everything he says is wrong, but the bits that are true aren't interesting, and the bits that are interesting aren't true.

however, let's step away from spin and opinion for just a moment and focus on the reality of the just-announced second quarter profit declared by goldman sachs...

from today's nyt article...

Comfortably beating analysts’ forecasts, Goldman Sachs earned second-quarter net profits of $3.44 billion, or $4.93 a share, the bank announced on Tuesday.

The results continue a robust turnaround for the firm since it rode out the final tumultuous months of last year with the aid of a federal rescue. They come just one month after it paid back its $10 billion in federal aid.

what's wrong with this picture...? we bail out the richest of the rich which then turns around and suddenly becomes immensely richer thanks to the largesse of us'ns, the american taxpayers...

full disclosure: personally, i don't care for matt taibbi... his one-man vendetta against "conspiracy theorists" has always seemed to me to be the near-hysterical rantings of someone who can't accept the remotest possibility that things aren't always what they seem... now that he's done a complete about-face and made hay out of his goldman sachs conspiracy theory, all i can say is that he's a hypocritical little shit... unfortunately, where goldman sachs is concerned, i think he's absolutely right, megan mcardle notwithstanding...

Some food for thought about 9/11

one of these days - and i fervently hope it's sooner rather than later - we're going to know the truth...
The Elephant in the Room

The Elephant in the Room is a documentary following British filmmaker Dean Puckett through his journey into the 9/11 Truth Movement: a global movement of ‘conspiracy theorists’ who believe that the official explanation about what happened on 9/11 is totally or partially inaccurate.

The filmmakers travel from middle England, across Europe and to New York for the six year anniversary of the attacks, where the film takes one final twist as we are introduced to the 9/11 first responders who are suffering from various grave health difficulties due to the toxic dust that they breathed in trying to help their country during the weeks after this tragic event.

Told with a personal hands on approach that avoids advancing any one position, the film asks the question: are these crazy conspiracy theorists? Or is 9/11 Truth a credible political movement? You decide...

and, speaking for myself, i'm deathly tired of people who insist on labeling those who dare to advance an explanation of historical events that diverges from the pre-digested, pre-approved propaganda promulgated by our elite-controlled media as "conspiracy theorists," a term that has become universally accepted code for fools, imbeciles and ignoramuses... and, just so i leave no doubt as to where i'm coming from, i'm equally tired of those who swallow such theories whole and make it their life's work to try to shove it down the throats of everyone else, when what we so desperately need is a full, reasonable, public exploration of the truth based on proven facts... do you suppose we can do that any time soon...?

did the Illuminati rig the schools, etc?

Are you aware that our Constitution is generally regarded as a dead letter except when it serves the politicos? Or are you confident that all that is needed is to point out where some errant naïve pol has simply gone astray and then, who in gratitude, will embrace you for setting him/her back upon the right path?

So, how's that coming?

Thanks to profmarcus posting Alex Jones' video, I have become more inclined to believe in secret societies and hidden hands that pull the strings and call the shots. My instincts tell me that big money, to the tune of billions of dollars, is controlling the media and our courts and the political process.

I remember watching congressional hearings when L. Paul Bremer was supposed to testify about the job he was doing in Iraq. I saw him make the excuse that he didn't have time to testify and he had a job to do, so his was just going to have to be going and get right back. It sounded just like the rogue DEA agent, Stansfield, (played deftly by Gary Oldman), in the movie Léon (1994), who bellows,
"I haven't got time for this Mickey Mouse bullshit."

Wikipedia states: "Blackwater attained its first high-profile contract when it received a $21 million no-bid contract for guarding the head of the Coalition Provisional Authority, L. Paul Bremer."

TPM wrote:
During his time as head of the U.S. Coalition Provisional Authority, Bremer was stalked by the United States' top fraud-buster in Iraq, Stuart Bowen, Special Inspector General for Iraq Reconstruction. The two were like the cartoon Road Runner and Wile E. Coyote: Bowen -- Mr. Coyote -- would come after Bremer with ever more devastating reports of fraud, mismanagement, abuse and utter chaos within Bremer's operations; yet Bremer had a road-runner-like ability to escape every time. Indeed, he walked away with a Presidential Medal of Freedom, the Department of Defense award for Distinguished Public Service, and even the Nixon Library's 'Victory of Freedom Award.'

Both men have testified before Congress, but never at the same hearing, a fact confirmed for me by Bowen's press aide, Christine Belisle. That could soon change: Waxman has "invited" the two men to testify at a Feb. 6 hearing on a lingering issue from Bremer's tenure: how nearly $9 billion in reconstruction funds went missing -- or in audit-speak, was "disbursed. . . without accountability."

DoD accounting failures could also hide untold billions. Outrageous tax breaks for the Rich imply an enormous quid pro quo. The betrayal of the public by allowing predator media conglomerates to devour smaller outlets smells of grease. Presidential libraries are huge cash cows. Sub Prime rackets abound and there is corporate welfare awash, galore.

The initial investment by hidden hands, in priming such systems to behave in such ways, didn't necessary have to cost huge sums. But they must have dumped a bundle at the start, in order to grab control of the schools, for instance, and of the kids, so that they could entirely marginalize them. Along with their new morals crusade, (I can tell you that the child nude model sites have all but disappeared). This long child porn and abstinence hysteria, simply points to that secret society's machinations yet at work. Those moves have robbed kids of their humanity. That particular political inculcation as well, as told in the video that follows, seems entirely consistent with such plans.

In the thread over at DU, "The Final Nail in America's Coffin", is a post that says, "The New World Order is upon us. Four things to investigate: Bilderberg Group - Gen. Smedley Butler - Project for the New American Century - Norman Dodd", and he points to this video. The first 16 minutes of the 50 minute video is spent establishing Norman Dodd's bona fides. To jump directly to his points, you can advance the video ahead to the 16 minute mark:

persuasion and moral sway

This simple animation of Garrett Lisi's elegant model of his new Unified Field Theory is narrated by a voice that sounds similar to that of the Red Queen in the movie, Resident Evil (2002), (starring the very sexy Milla Jovovich.)

(That voice for the Red Queen in Resident Evil belongs to Michaela Dicker.)

Which got me to thinking: Wouldn't Alex Jones' films be far more effective if a voice such as that of the Red Queen narrated his documentaries, rather than his own gravely and grating, saw-toothed raspy, irritating sound-of-a-voice? Is Jones so locked into his own ego that he would not want his message to be far more effectively delivered, than simply merely coveting attention to himself as the messenger?

Because I really am suspecting that the Bilderbergs, (or whatever incarnation they happen to be disguised as, at any given time), really ARE the force financing billions for their pet projects in ruling the world. Much like Alex Jones has said.

I have not to my satisfaction, even begun to get close to disproving this current notion, even with all of my logic thrown at it.

Pattern recognition, conspiracy theory, and the Bush administration

i am so sick and tired of people (like me, for instance) who see larger patterns and look beyond the micro of day-to-day events perenially discounted when the patterns they see emerging are potentially disastrous... the patterns exhibited by the united states during the time i have been an observer (going on 40 years) have been disturbing at best, but the patterns that have emerged since i have been a CLOSE observer (since 1995), and a VERY CLOSE observer (since 2000), are positively frightening...

let me be clear... i see a real difference between conspiracy theorists and those who recognize patterns... conspiracy theorists, i believe, have a profoundly negative and, to be blunt, paranoid worldview... they LOOK for things to be wrong... people with pattern recognition skills, on the other hand, look for things that FIT... they try very hard to make connections, to see how one puzzle piece fits with another...

pattern recognition isn't a very rewarding skill on which to base a career... i know that because i've been attempting to do it all my life without what i would call great success... in organizations, people with pattern recognition skills could be valued for being able to grasp and articulate the reality of the big-picture organizational environment... i say "could" because most organizations, as most societies, live either in a state of ignorance or a state of willful denial about the reality of their dynamics, and those who attempt to describe those dynamics with clarity and accuracy are rarely welcomed by senior management, the very ones who could most benefit from their skills... most often, the organization either marginalizes those people by putting them in positions where they can do "no harm," or by simply grinding them up and spitting them out...

which brings us to the current day, 2007, in the united states... there are a few of us - damn few - who look at the macro pattern of what has been taking place since the coup d'etat was ratified by the 12 december 2000 scotus decision, and see an extremely disturbing picture... a great many of my posts are created precisely to highlight various pieces of that picture... i have learned the hard way that, for those who are not of the pattern recognition persuasion, there is a strong tendency to dismiss our macro descriptions as conspiracy theory... there was a tut-tut, pooh-pooh post in daily kos just the other day that, with barely veiled ridicule, took issue with those waiting for "black helicopters..." well, be that as it may, i still believe the united states is teetering on the edge of a very dark abyss...

rather than attempt to re-visit all of my previous rants and raves on this subject, let me refer you to a current daily kos diary by cskendrick, entitled "Why It's Now or Never, Right Now, For The Republic..." had i the time or the patience, i might have written it myself, albeit in my own inimitable style... it's a bit long, but i strongly recommend you read it in full... it's an excellent summary of precisely where i think we are at today in the united states...
