The Real World

You should jump over to this site, Informationclearinghouse.info and watch their piece on the Carlyle Group. It is the perfect example of Elite control of world affairs, economies, and governments. If you don't believe in that sort of thing, if you believe what you are told, that only conspiracy nuts go for this stuff, you really should watch this documentary.
It is originally a production from the Netherlands, so it is able to talk about things our media won't touch anymore.

http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article3995.htm

It has all the major players. All those wonderful folks we are told to look up to and be like.
It's all about life. liberty, and the pursuit of happiness---THEIRS, not ours.
When I watch stuff like this I don't know whether to cry or turn revolutionary.
I always learned these kind of people are the enemies of freedom and democracy.
What do you think?

Bush's grand strategy: There's a sucker born every minute

and they're in high evidence in congress, the media and the american people (american people = US, you and me, the voters, the citizens, the great unwashed)...

Principal Tactic for Strategy Execution:
Bait and Switch

The Pentagon announced yesterday that 35,000 soldiers in 10 Army combat brigades will begin deploying to Iraq in August as replacements, making it possible to sustain the increase of U.S. troops there until at least the end of this year.

U.S. commanders in Iraq are increasingly convinced that heightened troop levels, announced by President Bush in January, will need to last into the spring of 2008.

just a few short months ago it was only 20,000...
Senators who met with Bush said the president made it clear that he is planning to add as many as 20,000 U.S. troops to help quell violence in Baghdad.

just a few short months ago, it was only temporary...
Defense Secretary Robert Gates said Thursday he doesn't know how long an increase in troop levels in Iraq will last.

"It's viewed as a temporary surge, but I think no one has a really clear idea of how long that might be," Gates said at a news conference.

oh, yeah, and remember this...?
The bi-partisan Iraq Study Group issued its report Wednesday, 06 December 2006, saying the situation in Iraq is grave and deteriorating. It called for enhanced diplomacy and the withdrawal of most U.S. combat troops in Iraq by early 2008. President Bush has said he will consider the report, as well as separate studies by other government agencies before making a decision.

and this...?
Bush Initiates Iraq Policy Review Separate From Baker Group's

"The president has asked all his national security agencies to assess the situation in Iraq, review the options and recommend the best way forward. The ISG report will be duly considered, and we look forward to their recommendations, as the president has always said," a White House official said, speaking on the condition of anonymity because the new initiative has not been announced. "The president indicated Monday that he is interested in hearing interesting ideas both within his administration and from the Baker-Hamilton commission."

The White House review could give the administration alternatives so that it feels less pressure to fully implement the recommendations of the Iraq Study Group report, foreign policy experts said.

and this...?
The Defense Department and the Army are disputing a new congressional report that says the 21,500 additional combat troops being sent to Iraq by the Bush administration could result in up to 50,000 troops actually being deployed to the region when all support forces are taken into account.

Defense and service officials say only a fraction of that number would be needed.

Question: How Stupid Are We?

Answer: Very.

A strategic mistake: invading Iraq in the first place

wow...! i can't imagine a stronger message...

the dems' weekly radio address by ltg (ret) wm. odom...

[T]he President has let [Iraq] proceed on automatic pilot, making no corrections in the face of accumulating evidence that his strategy is failing and cannot be rescued.

"Thus, he lets the United States fly further and further into trouble, squandering its influence, money, and blood, facilitating the gains of our enemies. The Congress is the only mechanism we have to fill this vacuum in command judgment.

"To put this in a simple army metaphor, the Commander-in-Chief seems to have gone AWOL, that is 'absent without leave.' He neither acts nor talks as though he is in charge. Rather, he engages in tit-for-tat games.

"Some in Congress on both sides of the aisle have responded with their own tits-for-tats. These kinds of games, however, are no longer helpful, much less amusing. They merely reflect the absence of effective leadership in a crisis. And we are in a crisis.

"Most Americans suspect that something is fundamentally wrong with the President's management of the conflict in Iraq. And they are right.

"The challenge we face today is not how to win in Iraq; it is how to recover from a strategic mistake: invading Iraq in the first place. The war could never have served American interests.

here's what i wish would happen...

i wish odom, along with four or five of his retired general officer colleagues, would join with larry wilkerson, james baker, richard clarke, russ feingold, chuck hagel, john murtha, harry reid, nancy pelosi, hell, throw in lee iacocca too, to sit down with bush in the oval office and lay the cards on the table...
"look, george... it's over... iraq's over... your presidency is over... you've got a choice... you can either gracefully resign along with dick cheney, or we're going to bust our humps to remove you via impeachment... the country and the world can't put up with any more, george... we've had it..."

Condi tips her hand about where her head is REALLY at

for a united states secretary of state who also happens to be ranked as the most powerful woman in the world by forbes magazine in 2004 and 2005 and number two in 2006 to make such an obvious and damaging gaffe and then to not catch herself, tells me as much as i want to know about condoleezza rice...
"The idea that somehow 10 interceptors and a few radars in Eastern Europe are going to threaten the Soviet strategic deterrent is purely ludicrous and everybody knows it," she told reporters ahead of the Oslo meeting. "The Russians have thousands of warheads. The idea that you can somehow stop the Russian strategic nuclear deterrent with a few interceptors just doesn't make sense."

perhaps she's just pining for the days when her expertise was actually relevant...
From 1989 through March 1991 (the period of the fall of Berlin Wall and the final days of the Soviet Union), she served in President George H.W. Bush's administration as Director, and then Senior Director, of Soviet and East European Affairs in the National Security Council, and a Special Assistant to the President for National Security Affairs. In this position, Rice helped develop Bush's and Secretary of State James Baker's policies in favor of German reunification. She impressed Bush, who later introduced her to Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev as the one who "tells me everything I know about the Soviet Union."

or maybe she was distracted thinking about going shopping for some new ferragamos later in the day...

Dick’s still hard but Condi’s gone soft

while dick continues to wolf down ideological viagra, what’s happened to our favorite, ferragamo-wearing dominatrix…?

the nyt asks…
Has the Bush administration gone soft on its foes?

…said Daniel P. Serwer, a vice president at the United States Institute of Peace and a former diplomat who served as executive director of the bipartisan Iraq Study Group… said,. “[I]t’s absolutely clear to me that you have to talk to who you have to talk to, in order to get things done.”

careful, condi… dick ain’t a pretty sight when he’s pissed off… more interesting to me, however, is who’s twisting condi’s arm…? she may have academic smarts, but in the 6-plus years she’s been sucking up to george (see previous post), she hasn’t exactly demonstrated much of a capacity for either intelligent or forceful action… could it be…?
At a dinner and lecture on Tuesday night at the Library of Congress, it looked like a reunion of the pro-engagement crowd. Seated at the front was former Secretary of State Henry A. Kissinger, along with the new deputy secretary of state, John D. Negroponte; also in attendance was Robert L. Gallucci, the former chief United States negotiator during the North Korean nuclear crisis of 1994.
It was a veritable bevy of advocates of realpolitik, headlined by former Secretary of State James A. Baker III, who told the audience, “America must be prepared to talk to our enemies.”

a-HA…! why, it’s that sly old fox, james baker, again… funny how he just keeps turning up… it looks like poppy is doing everything he can possibly do to save george’s sorry ass from total and absolute disgrace… i wouldn’t be at all surprised either if it wasn’t baker who maneuvered behind the scenes to get dick out of town… it was probably easier to stage-manage some of this stuff while darth was ensconced in his “high-tech” trailer, jetting around the middle east…

Look out, George! James Baker's coming back for another shot.

and you thought that flipping off the iraq study group report got him out of your hair once and for all...
"The newly launched National War Powers Commission will be chaired by former Secretary of State James Baker, fresh off leading the Iraq Study Group, along with another former top diplomat, Warren Christopher," reports Neil King, Jr. for the [The Wall Street Journal's 'Washington Wire']. "The panel enter a debate almost as old as the republic, but also one that is particularly salient now as Democrats in Congress ponder whether to curtail funding for the Iraq war or even to repeal the 2002 measure authorizing it."

you didn't really think you could diss daddy's consigliere and get away with it, now did you...?
