G-Rod 86'd* 59-0 and barred forever from Illinois public office

not a single goddam illinois state senator voted against the measure...
The Illinois Senate convicted Gov. Rod R. Blagojevich on an article of impeachment Thursday that charged him with a pattern of abusing power, prompting the governor’s immediate ouster and ending nearly two months of political spectacle in which he sought to salvage his reputation and career here and across the country.

Mr. Blagojevich, a two-term Democrat who rose from the ranks of Chicago ward politics on the strength of his charisma and family connections, is the first governor in Illinois history to be impeached.

The senators voted 59 to 0 in favor of removing him after a four-day trial; a dramatic 45-minute speech by Mr. Blagojevich in which he declared his innocence; and about two hours of deliberation. They also voted unanimously to bar him from holding public office again in Illinois.

the guy so brazenly sunk his own boat, it's almost beyond belief...

comment from my friend in illinois...

FINALLY - it's over! Course the lieutenant governor taking his spot tain't no gem either!

* for those unfamiliar with the term...
86'd

To get rid of, originally for killing someone. The phrase "80 miles out and 6 feet under" was reserved for someone who had to dig their own grave 80 miles from civilization and then get shot execution-style. All terms for 86'd originated from this, be it alcohol or eliminating.
