also, i was in sofia a few weeks ago when the nato foreign ministers met and condi was there to sign this agreement with bulgaria...
while we obsess with fitz, hastert, rove, bush, immigration and gore's new movie, the u.s. is inexorably expanding its military presence on russia's doorstep... after cheney's attack on russia in vilnius and the subsequent rumblings from russia about a renewed cold war, this is stuff that deserves more attention than it's getting... Bulgaria has agreed to open three military bases to permanent use by 2,500 U.S. troops who would be available for combat in the Middle East and other nearby regions.
